A core tenet of Johrei is the belief that spiritual purification can lead to physical healing. According to this practice, illnesses are seen as manifestations of spiritual blockages that disrupt the harmonious flow of qi. By receiving Johrei, these blockages are gradually dissolved, allowing the body to heal itself. This holistic approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, and aims to address the root causes of health issues rather than merely treating symptoms.
Johrei is practiced in various settings, including Johrei centers, homes, and places of worship. Sessions often begin with a prayer and may involve the use of the O-Hikari to focus the energy. The practice can also be performed remotely, with practitioners sending healing energy to individuals who are not physically present. This flexibility makes Johrei accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, allowing them to benefit from its healing properties.
