An epic, sprawling narrative that has everything: high drama, intricate political intrigue, profound personal trauma, hidden identities, and intense complex characters. All threads weave personal and political motivations that make you care so deeply about the fate of these people. The emotional stakes are incredibly high, filled with themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and interwoven vengeance.
Set in the late 12th century Scottish Highlands and forged by the authors own experiences with pain, trauma, betrayal, abandonment, secrets, trust, and identities hidden behind masks. Where the wolf is exposed, and the sheep bites back.
This is a visceral and dark narrative that combines pockets of tenderness and comic relief for the anyone that understands the psychology behind how pain is hidden.
The saga opens with a birthing scene, a true lineage sets the stakes to follow. It doesn't end there. Another birth, and a brutal usurper that will stop at nothing to protect his stolen throne.
More than a saga to me; drew on my experiences of abandonment, craving for safety, the corrosive presence of ppl hiding behind false faces, sociopaths, narcissists, manipulators. I gave a voice thru stone walls & hills. Wrapped in plaid, w/ a dagger to wield. Took betrayal & silence, forged into saga, truths are masked & identities shift.
The plots and subplots are wholly imagined, fueled by my understanding of betrayal, mistrust, and those who are not who they appear to be—until it is too late.
Wrapped my unspoken pain, traumas, emotional truth in tartan and steel, then set it loose
