Michael pulled into his apartment parking lot and looked at his sister. "What else am I supposed to do? Let her go into foster care? Let her grow up with strangers? Lucia and David trusted me. They made me her godfather because they thought I was someone who could be counted on. I'm not going to prove them wrong just because it's hard."
