La domanda, cui questo volume si propone di rispondere, e ognuno dev'essersela posta per lo meno una volta nella vita, è: la telepatia, la veggenza, la divinazione del futuro sono doni? Sono tecniche? Sono l'una e l'altra cosa? Sono l'effetto di una particolare predisposizione di pochi o sono presenti in ciascuno di noi? Dal superamento di essa si potrà ottenere lo sviluppo di quello che Colin Wilson chiama il "senso latente" o la "facoltà X".Questo, secondo Wilson, è il potere che, a ciascuno di noi, consente di superare i limiti del presente. Sappiamo infatti che il passato è reale quanto il presente e che New York, Singapore o Tokio esistono quanto e come, il luogo ove siamo in questo preciso momento. Ma i nostri sensi ci trasmettono una diversa realtà e ci assicurano che il posto, ove siamo ora, è assolutamente più reale di qualunque altro luogo, non importa in quale momento. E che ciò sia falso, ci appare solo in momenti di grossa intensità interiore.Quindi siamo vittime di una realtà virtuale che determina in noi una ricettività passiva molto pericolosa perché crea una condizione di noia e di stagnazione che spiegherebbe anche la natura incredibilmente gratuita e violenta di taluni crimini. L'uomo così, per venirne fuori, deve fortificare il "muscolo mentale". E sarà meno difficile di quanto possa sembrare se lo vorremo davvero.Il metodo descritto in questo volume non è il prodotto di concezioni teoriche più o meno realizzabili, destinate a provocare la chiaroveggenza presso i lettori desiderosi di sperimentazione. Il metodo è, al contrario, essenzialmente positivo, in quanto costituisce la conclusione di non poche migliaia di esperienze intraprese nell'arco di circa un ventennio, da un numero notevole di soggetti di ogni categoria. Produce effetti notevoli con individui normalmente evoluti, soprattutto con persone capaci di mantenere costante serenità o animate dal desiderio sincero di elevazione morale; in ultima analisi, il metodo reca a tutti, a livelli più o meno intensi, stati soggettivi nuovi e superiori, poiché costituisce una vera e propria cultura psichica e mentale.Veggenza, Telepatia, divinazione premonitoria sono in embrione, dentro di noi? Proviamo a seguire questo metodo che, se lo vorremo davvero, potrà guidarci OLTRE IL LIMITE.
