ROCKEFELLER MEDICINE MEN: MEDICINE AND CAPITALISM IN AMERICA
By RICHARD E. BROWN
Length10h 18m
About this audiobook
Discover a hidden chapter of history that shaped the modern educational landscape. This compelling work exposes the complex, cynical political compromises made during the Jim Crow era between wealthy Northern philanthropists and Southern white supremacist leaders. Through meticulous documentation and striking firsthand accounts, the book reveals how the deliberate funding of manual vocational training over higher academic colleges was used to justify the stripping away of Black voting rights and the enforcement of strict segregation. A brilliant, eye-opening resource for readers seeking to understand the deep intersections of race, education, power, and institutional transparency in American history.
