This is the story of Monsieur Michelon, a fat, old cat who lives with his friends – and human servants – on a farm in the countryside of Vendee in western France. Michelon is a private detective who keeps ‘the little pink cells’ in good health by doing battle with some of the most dastardly criminals in France.
In this story he is asked to find the thieves that have stolen a very large and very smelly Camembert cheese that was about to be entered in a competition.
Michelon suspects that there is more to the theft that it appears at first and that the super villain Mousyarty might be involved.
With the help of his friend Marcel, the farm cockerel, and his devoted hens, he is proved right.
