Au cœur d'une tempête, un animateur radio local est sauvagement assassiné dans son manoir de l'Essex. Lorsque les nuages et la pluie se dissipent le lendemain matin, le DS Tomek Bowen et son équipe découvrent une scène de crime qui rappelle quelque chose tout droit sorti des livres d'histoire.
