A girl runs away to Tokyo to disappear. Her dog follows. A fox spirit accidentally turns the dog human. It gets worse from there.
Part supernatural comedy, part found-family story — set in the bars and backstreets of Shimokitazawa, where a baroque-rock ninja band, a very confused Wire Fox Terrier in sneakers, and one extremely patient grandmother conspire to make Mayu into exactly the person she was trying not to be.
