About the author
Andrew Murray
Andrew Murray (1828–1917) was a South African writer, teacher, and Christian pastor. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, he was sent to Aberdeen, Scotland, for his education, where he obtained his MA in 1845. From there he went to the University of Utrecht where he studied theology. He was ordained by the Hague Committee of the Dutch Reformed Church in 1848 and returned to South Africa where he pastored churches in Bloemfontein, Worcester, Cape Town, and Wellington. He was a champion of the South African Revival of 1860. He married Emma Rutherford in 1856 in Cape Town, South Africa, and they had eight children.View all by Andrew Murray
