At the edge of the North Woods stands a cabin that remembers everyone who ever needed it.
For generations, Bellweather House welcomed the lost, the grieving, the hungry, and the almost-found with soup on the stove, a lantern in the window, room by the fire for anyone who arrived before they were whole. But since Mara Bellweather died, the welcome lantern has gone dark.
Now the cabin is tended by a fox baker, a raccoon concierge, an owl bookkeeper, a goat groundskeeper, and Crumb, a spoon-wielding gremlin with an Important Stuff box and no license whatsoever to provide emotional support. When two strangers find their way to the forgotten house, they discover a living sanctuary waiting to wake again.
To relight the lantern, they must help Crumb learn that keeping the door open does not mean betraying the person he lost. It means becoming the love she left behind.
