The UN decides to discontinue the CEADAS space debris collection program The craft’s commander, Pete Duran, and its mainframe computer, LYKI, decide to take over the craft, completing the final collection run. As time passes LYKI evolves into a technological hybrid of artificial intelligence capable of manipulating its crew. After a devastating sun storm wreaks havoc across the universe, the spacecraft find refuge on the outskirts of the planetary system. Among the CEADAS crew is a team of scientists headed for Neptune, who are working on the rejuvenation of biosomes, as well as exploring the nature of time-travel. Now, it’s a race against time to find a way of escaping the solar system and escaping through time-distortion might be their only hope. Meanwhile, LYKI has been preparing for the establishment of a new colony, creating advanced robot prototypes of artificial hyper-intelligence.
