Gabi nodded, wincing as she tried to straighten. Ian helped support her as the paramedic began his assessment—checking her pupils, her breathing, gently probing her ribs. She hissed in pain when he touched the left side.
"Definitely broken ribs," the paramedic said. "Possibly a punctured lung given the blood. We need to get you to a hospital."
"After," Gabi said. "I need to brief my supervisor first."
