Arsene Lupin was originally a four part play by French author Maurice Leblanc, performed in 1908. It was turned into a novel by Edgar Jepson and published in 1909. Chronologically, it comes between The Hollow Needle and 813, but isn't usually considered to be part of the Lupin series.The books features Germaine de Gournay-Martin, a snobbish daughter who belongs to a wealthy family, who is finally going to marry the penniless Jacques, Duke of Charmerace. Except Jacques is really our roguish thief, Arsene Lupin.
