About this audiobook

"An International Episode" was published  in the December 1878 and January 1879 editions of Cornhill Magazine in England. The story has James’s famous international theme — the collisions between the old world of Europe and the new of America. It is one of many tales exploring this ‘international theme’ made famous by Henry James. As an American who had lived in Europe (and in England in particular) for many years, he very frequently put European characters in an American setting, and vice versa – exploring the manners, morals, and behaviour of one group on another. Two men visiting the US from London meet a pair of charming women who return the visit the following year in London. Romantic intrigues, miscommunication and cultural faux pas abound in this short but delightful novel.
