Deep-cover operative Amethyst is recruited by The Directorate to infiltrate the Syndicate of Nations, a shadow government manipulating global events. Spending two years undercover, she participates in increasingly dark operations including murder to maintain her cover. During a leadership meeting in Switzerland, she photographs senior Syndicate leader Cardinal and later transmits intelligence about their operation OBSIDIAN CASCADE. Amethyst's extraction under heavy pursuit succeeds, her intelligence disrupts the Syndicate's plans and leads to arrests. Psychologically damaged but victorious, she transitions to training new operatives.
