About this audiobook
In Aim. Shoot. Reload., Marcin Urbańczyk shares the hard, practical lessons behind building and scaling OLX in Europe, from a handful of people working out of a Poznań basement to a multi-billion-euro platform used by millions every day.
Along the way came moments no playbook could prepare for: a year-long ban from Google, protests outside the office, brutal competition, the shock of a global pandemic, and the reality of war reaching his team in Ukraine.
Through vivid stories and clear business and leadership lessons, Marcin shows how OLX not only survived, but thrived. From scrappy rebrands and bold marketing bets to the discipline of focusing on the few metrics that actually matter, he reveals what works, what breaks, and what it really takes to build a platform at scale.
Part memoir, part field guide, this is a story of leadership under pressure, teams pushed to their limits, and the constant cycle of building, breaking, and rebuilding
Marcin Urbańczyk has spent nearly two decades building classifieds and marketplace businesses, including Vivastreet, EasyRoomMate, and OLX.
He joined OLX at an early stage in Poland and spent more than 13 years building and leading the company, serving as CEO of OLX Poland and later CEO of OLX Europe. During that time, he oversaw growth from zero to more than €600 million in annual revenue across multiple markets and business models.
Today, Marcin builds and advises marketplace businesses, drawing on first-hand experience operating at scale.
